What the app does

  • It asks how you feel and, if you allow it, takes a reading with the iPhone and Apple Watch sensors.
  • From that it estimates a likely state and proposes a journey: guided breathing with a layer of binaural beats and isochronic tones, and optionally music and a whispered voice accompanying each phase.
  • It can offer you a reading before a calendar meeting or when its passive estimate changes, if you enable those reminders.

Frequently asked questions

The Apple Watch app doesn't appear or won't update

Open the Watch app on your iPhone, find NewMe Hertz in the list of available apps and tap Install. If it is already installed and won't update, uninstall it there and install it again. Keep both devices close and charged while it syncs.

Where do I change permissions?

All permissions are managed from iOS Settings:

  • Health: Settings › Health › Data Access & Devices › NewMe Hertz.
  • Camera, microphone, location, calendar, motion and notifications: Settings › NewMe Hertz.
  • Apple Music: Settings › NewMe Hertz › Media & Apple Music.

Removing a permission doesn't break the app: that signal stops entering the estimate and everything else keeps working.

Why does it ask how I feel every time I open it?

Because your self-report is the signal that corrects all the others. Sensors give physiological hints, but only you know how you feel; that is the input the app treats as ground truth and the one that lets it tune its estimates to you. It is the only required step at launch, and the rest of the flow can be skipped.

Do I need headphones?

For binaural beats, yes. A binaural beat is produced by sending a slightly different frequency to each ear, so it needs headphones or earphones to work. Isochronic tones and guided breathing work fine through the speaker.

The music doesn't play

Music playback inside a journey uses Apple Music and requires an active subscription. Without one you can run the journey without music, or open Spotify with the link the app offers. Also check that you granted permission in Settings › NewMe Hertz › Media & Apple Music.

Is my data stored on a server?

No. All processing happens on your devices and nothing is sent out. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

How do I delete my data?

From Settings › Erase all my data inside the app. Full steps are on How to delete your data.
